How the verdicts are made
Every page answers one decision a traveller is actually making — is a ticket worth it, which Chimelong park to pick, where to sleep — with a direct verdict rather than a listicle. Behind each verdict: published prices in yuan, Metro lines and stations, taxi/DiDi fares, crowd patterns and comparison tables. A "SKIP" stays a skip even when a bookable partner sells tickets for it.
How facts are checked
A page whose facts have been re-checked says so under its headline — "Facts checked" and the date — and ends with a Sources box listing what it was checked against. We prefer primary sources: the venue's or operator's own site, Guangzhou Metro, MTR and China Railway for fares, the National Immigration Administration and China's foreign ministry for entry rules, the Canton Fair's own site, the Michelin Guide's own listings. A page without that stamp shows the date the site was last updated instead, and has not been through a dated check — treat its prices as a guide and confirm on the linked official page.
What we deliberately do not publish. Opening hours: they change too often for a printed copy to stay right, so every venue page links to Google Maps instead, which shows today's times. Review scores and rankings from TripAdvisor, Trip.com or Dianping: they move weekly and are not ours to restate.
Corrections. If something is wrong or out of date, email [email protected] with the page and what changed. A confirmed correction is fixed on the page and moves its "Facts checked" date.
Affiliate disclosure
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you book through one, the company pays this site a commission; your price does not change. The programmes are GetYourGuide and Klook (tours, tickets, activities), TripAdvisor (tours and attraction tickets, via Rakuten Advertising), Agoda (hotels, via the Agoda Partners programme), TourRadar (multi-day tours), and the trip-kit links — Airalo (eSIM), SafetyWing (travel insurance), Kiwi.com (flights), GetTransfer (airport transfers), Radical Storage (luggage storage) and TicketNetwork (event tickets). Commission never changes a verdict: pages recommend skipping paid attractions wherever the evidence says so, and many pages carry no affiliate link at all. Affiliate links carry rel="sponsored" so search engines see them for what they are. Links in a page's Sources box are never affiliate links.
What we measure
We count visits and clicks on outbound links with Google Analytics 4, loaded through Cloudflare, to learn which pages help and which booking links people use. There are no ads, no accounts and no sign-up forms on this site.
